I've experienced the same thing and attribute it to atmospheric conditions, or in Nashville, just plain humidity. Any time humidity rises, it affects anything in the room that absorbs moisture. So one day your amp may sound like it's on a hardwood floor and the next a carpet. I have a hardwood floor in my music room and keep a dehumidifier on for my electronic equipment so the sound stays consistent.
