Years ago, when I recorded Expedition E9, I made a track for "Devil's Dream" so I could take it home and work on it for the album. The fingering was so difficult and I became so frustrated, I pulled and clawed at the strings as hard as I could for a week. When I finally gave up, my hand had a numb line that ran from the base of the wrist, up through the center of the palm, and on to the middle finger. It affected my playing for many years and I remember one particular time when I thought I would never get through the song "Sleigh Ride" on the Christmas album. Anyway, the numbness in the palm stopped about six years ago and the osteoarthritis started a couple of years ago, so I don't know how much the Devil's Dream incident had to do with it.
