I didn't raise strings 9 and 10 until my first Emmons guitar. If you will listen closely to the original recording, I used only the top end of the tuning for the E7 chord after the boo-wah chord. Most of the chord work was between pedal six and seven. I added the bottom strings on my instrumental version.
