If I were buying the P/P and it had the stock single coil pickups I wouldn't change them. A lot of players can't tolerate the hum of the single coils but if you're going for sound, there's no better match for the P/P. If you find that your Emmons pickups measure 20k and want to keep them, I recommend using a Goodrich MatchBox or Steeldriver.
