I first heard Midnight in Old Amarillo on a recording by Billy Bowman. My discography of Bob Wills shows that Billy recorded B Bowman Hop with Bob in 1953 but doesn't list Midnight in Old Amarillo in the tunes from 1953 through 1957. So Billy must have recorded it after he left the Wills band, probably in the sixties.
