Danny was as fun to work with as anybody I've known but it was a challenge and one that kept me on my toes at all times. With all the tricks I have, they didn't hold a candle to the Danny's arsenal. He was tough to compete with, and I mean friendly competition. He frequently challenged me with a big smile, not for the purpose of burning me, but to see how much more he could dig out of me. That was Danny's way of getting the best out of the musicians in his band. He loved for players to surprise him so he could feed off of it and raise the bar another notch.
